Transparency, Integrity and Accountability

What percentage of my donation goes to where I’ve directed it?

Great first question. When you donate and direct your funds to a specific segment of Touch Nepal’s work, 100% of those funds go to the place you’ve directed them! All legitimate non-profits have at least some overhead so you may ask, “How are you able to do that?” When donors give to Touch Nepal’s General Fund, we use those funds to cover our very small overhead operating expenses. It’s a beautiful partnership where one supplies the needs of the other all for the common good of the people of Nepal.

“He who plants and he who waters are one…” 1 Corinthians 3:8

What are your primary operating costs?

Our primary operating costs in no particular order involve donor processing fees from credit cards, website hosting fees, bank fees, wire fees when we send money into Nepal, Quickbooks cloud usage fees, year end donations receipts, mailing, postage and other promotional types of fees and filing fees related to operating a 501(c)3.

“Operating cost should never carry more weight than the broader factors such as a non-profits' capability to execute mission, plus their effectiveness (impact), longevity, efficiency, transparency and leadership skills.” Brian Saber

In 2018 Touch Nepal’s operating and overhead costs were only 8.7%. To read a short and sharp article on the importance of NOT overly focusing on your favorite non-profit’s operating costs click here.

Touch Nepal exists to give every person in Nepal an opportunity to hear, and more importantly respond, to the forgiveness, eternal hope and love found in Jesus. We aren’t going to to be shy about asking people to donate to something so amazing!

Transparency. Who’s watching you?

Transparency is as important to you, as it is to us. Since 2013 we’ve been using the cloud version of Quickbooks to run the accounting for Touch Nepal. This was chosen on purpose. For transparency and accountability, our books are open via the cloud at all times to Gallardo and Associates, a certified accounting firm in Ventura, CA. Tom and Lois Gallardo have been the talented and watchful eyes over Touch Nepal's accounting books since 2013! Tom and Lois Gallardo serve on the Board of Directors for Neverthirst as well as being on the elder team for Anthem Church in Thousand Oaks, CA. We are grateful for their oversight and for the important part they play to help Touch Nepal stand in integrity and with transparency.

We send out 100% of our donor’s directed funds, because we’re also 100% invested into that mission.

For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:21
